Good morning, friends! Microsoft has released a new pre-build of Windows 10, numbered 19577, for members of the Windows Insider program who use the Fast Ring channel.
Full build number: 19577.1000. rs_prerelease. 200228-1439.
We remind you that the “Early access” channel releases builds that may contain rather unpleasant errors. If you need more stability, we recommend switching to the Slow (Late access) or Release Preview channels.
Innovations
Changes in the diagnostic data section in Parameters» As part of Microsoft’s initiative to increase transparency and control over data, some changes have been made to the Settings app and group policies, which will start appearing in Windows Insider builds this month. Basic diagnostic data are now called “Mandatory diagnostic data”, and full diagnostic data are “Additional diagnostic data”. If you are an enterprise customer and choose to send additional diagnostic data, you will also be provided with detailed group policy settings to configure the data collected in your organization. Microsoft will publish additional details about the new policies closer to release, and in the meantime, we recommend that you read the Microsoft Privacy Report for more information about data collection methods.

New icons: Windows Security
Microsoft continues to release updated icons for pre-installed apps in Windows 10. In build 19577, the Windows Security app icon was updated to match the new design principles outlined by the Microsoft design team here. Unlike many pre-installed applications that can be updated through the Microsoft Store, the new Windows Security icon is updated in the operating system and will be available to users in the final version of the future functional update for Windows 10.

Changes and improvements
- In the new Cortana app, conversations with your assistant are now available again. For example, you can ask him to tell an anecdote or a bedtime story, as well as offer to play “rock, scissors, paper”.This change is made on the server-side and will be available on all builds with the new Cortana app. Last month, the company returned support for timers and instant responses to Cortana.
- Updated the “Advanced boot options” (“Options” – > “Update and security” – > “Recovery” – > “Special boot options” – > “Restart now”) to ensure that some special features work correctly. - Fixed an issue where when configuring Windows Hello using Arabic, the configuration progress tracking window did not match your face.
- Fixed an issue where safe search parameters (“Settings” – > “Search” – > “Permissions and history”) were not saved when installing updates.
- Fixed an issue that caused the microphone to not work on certain devices on builds 19559 — 19569. If you continue to observe problems with the microphone, then report it to the “feedback Center”.
- Fixed an issue that affected the stability of explorer.exe for some insiders when navigating in Explorer.
- Fixed an issue where using the Restart Manager API to restart explorer.exe has led to the closure of all open Windows store apps.
- Fixed an issue that could cause DWN to crash when handwriting on your PC.
- Fixed an issue that could cause Outlook to crash if you entered too many characters in the ” To ” field using the Korean IME.

Known error
- BattlEye and Microsoft have identified issues with the compatibility of some Insider Preview builds with certain versions of the anti-cheat program BattlEye due to changes in the operating system. To protect insiders who may have these versions installed, a restriction has been implemented so that Insider Preview builds will not be offered for devices that may be affected by this issue. - Microsoft is aware of a problem with Screen announcer and NVDA users using the new version of Microsoft Edge based on Chromium, which may cause some difficulties when navigating and reading certain web content. Development teams are working to fix the problem. The problem does not affect users of an outdated version of Microsoft Edge. NVAccess released NVDA 2019.3, which fixes an issue with Edge.

- We are investigating reports that some insiders cannot update to new builds due to the 0x8007042b error.
- The “Documents” section in the privacy settings does not display an icon correctly (a simple rectangle).
- When updating the system using certain languages, such as Japanese, the “Installing Windows X%” page does not display the text correctly.
- The “Download from the cloud” option does not work on this build. Use the local reinstall option when resetting the system settings.
- If you use the Win + PrtSc key combination to capture a screenshot, the image is not saved in the Screenshots folder. As a workaround, we suggest using other options for creating screenshots, such as Win + Shift + S.
- We investigate reports that the Troubleshooting process (DISM) stops at 84.9%.
- Sometimes notifications include incorrect actions (for example, a field for entering a response or various buttons).
