Good evening friends! Microsoft has released a new preview build of Windows 11 22000.526 (KB5010414) for Windows Insiders using the Beta and Release Preview channels.
This cumulative update brings with it several new features and also fixes a large number of bugs found in the release version of Windows 11. You can find the full list of fixes on the official blog. We will list only the most important changes and improvements.
Changes and fixes
- We fixed an issue resulting in incorrect taskbar tooltips appearing in empty spaces after hovering over icons such as battery, volume, or Wi-Fi.
- Added weather information to the left side of the taskbar, displayed when the taskbar is centered. Hovering over the weather will bring up the Widgets panel. It will disappear when you remove the cursor from this area.
- The date and time will now be displayed on the taskbar on secondary monitors.
- Added the ability to quickly enable app window sharing from the taskbar when communicating via Microsoft Teams.
- Added the ability to quickly turn the microphone on or off in Microsoft Teams right from the taskbar. During a meeting, a microphone icon will be displayed on the taskbar, by clicking on which you can easily mute the microphone without returning to the Microsoft Teams window.
- We fixed an issue resulting in the list of time zones in Settings being empty for non-admin users.
- We fixed an issue resulting in the Task Manager not showing the impact of an application on system startup time.
- Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer mode in Edge can now share cookies.
- We fixed an issue with dialog boxes in Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge.
- We fixed an issue that caused Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge to stop working when pressing the F1 key.
- Added support for Windows Hello for Business Cloud Trust.
- We fixed an issue that prevented drivers from being unloaded and reloaded if they were protected by Hypervisor-protected Code Integrity (HVCI).
- We fixed an issue that impacted enabling the Silent BitLocker policy and could cause Trusted Platform Module (TPM) protection to be unintentionally enabled.
- We fixed a stability issue that affected the use of Remote Desktop to connect a client’s local drive to a Terminal Server session.
- Microsoft Office files found in the Recommended section of the Start menu will open in a web browser if Microsoft Office is not installed on the device and the file is stored in OndeDrive or SharePoint. If Microsoft Office is installed, the file will open in the desktop application.
- We fixed an issue that caused offline files on a network drive to become inaccessible after rebooting the OS and logging in. This issue occurs when a Distributed File System (DFS) path is mapped to a network drive.
- We fixed an issue that caused the authentication dialog to appear twice when connecting a network drive.
- Added support for hot adding and removing non-volatile memory (NVMe) namespaces.
