Changes and fixes
- New! Improved Windows search results and improved performance.
- New! An item for launching the “Task Manager” has been added to the context menu of the taskbar. This feature will roll out to users in the coming weeks.
- We fixed an issue that affected Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) authentication hardening. The authentication level is automatically raised for all non-anonymous activation requests from DCOM clients to RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_PKT_INTEGRITY. This happens if the authentication level is below Packet Integrity.
- Fixed an issue with DCOM that affected the Remote Procedure Call Service (rpcss.exe). Authentication level raised to RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_PKT_INTEGRITY instead of RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_CONNECT if RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_NONE is specified.
- We fixed an issue that affected the Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AAD) Application Proxy Connector. Because of this issue, it was not possible to obtain a Kerberos ticket on behalf of the user. Error message: “The specified handle is invalid (0x80090301)”.
- We fixed an issue that affected the execution of Native Image Generator (Ngen.exe) scheduled tasks on devices with certain processors.
- Fixed an issue affecting certificate matching. If lsass.exe crashed, then schannel.dll could also stop working.
- We fixed an issue that caused the OS update process to become unresponsive and then fail.
- We fixed an issue where a task scheduled to run every two weeks would run every week.
- We fixed an issue affecting Microsoft Direct3D 9 games. The graphics accelerator could stop working if it did not have the native Direct3D 9 driver.
- We fixed an issue where the width of three Chinese characters was incorrect when set to bold.
- Fixed graphical issues in games using Microsoft D3D9 on some platforms.
- We fixed an issue resulting in pop-up and tab titles not displaying correctly in IE mode in Microsoft Edge.
- We fixed an issue resulting in IE mode webpages failing to open in Microsoft Edge. This happened when Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG) was enabled and the Network Isolation policy was configured.
- We fixed an issue affecting Microsoft and third-party input method editors (IMEs). They stopped working after closing the IME window. This only happens if the IME is using Windows Text Services Framework (TSF) 1.0.
- Fixed an issue that affected the operation of the lasso tool in the graphics editor.
- We fixed an issue that prevented a universal printer from being reinstalled after uninstalling it.
- We fixed an issue that caused a duplicate print queue to be created. This caused the original print queue to stop working.

- We fixed an issue where a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) remote desktop session could use the wrong time zone.
- We fixed an issue that could cause File Explorer to crash in a Remote Desktop (RD) session if a non-Windows client connects to a Windows 11 RD session host and the time zone redirection policy is enabled.
- Fixed an issue with the BS_PUSHLIKE button style that made them hard to recognize on a dark background.
- We fixed an issue where the credentials UI was not displayed in IE mode.
