Apple rolls out first firmware update for AirPods Pro 2

Apple’s latest AirPods Pro 2 TWS earphones, which were introduced earlier this month and went on sale recently, are now receiving their first firmware update since launch.

According to GSM Arena, the new firmware has the version number 5A377 and the release notes say that it comes with bug fixes and “other improvements”, but it is not known what bugs are fixed and what is improved with this update.

Firmware updates to AirPods are usually delivered when they’re charging and within Bluetooth range of their iPhone, iPad, or Mac user, and there’s no standard way to install updates manually, so you’ll have to wait for the update to arrive on your headphones.

However, for those who don’t know what firmware their AirPods have, make sure your iPhone/iPad is running the latest version of the operating system, open the Settings app and go to Bluetooth, then AirPods. Click the “More Info” button labeled “I” and scroll down to the “About App” section to find the firmware version according to GSM Arena.

The latest AirPods Pro feature a new H2 chip, a new charging case with Find My Support, and a built-in speaker to help you stay on top of them. Users can charge the case using an Apple Watch charger, as well as a Lightning cable or a Qi or MagSafe charger. Apple further claims that the AirPods Pro have a longer battery life, six hours on a single charge.
