Cashify released its Whitepaper Survey which reveals that Apple is the most popular smartphone brand in Delhi. A total of 8,000 people were interviewed. Of these, 18% of iPhone users lived in Delhi, followed by 11% in Bangalore and 10% in Mumbai. Another interesting result of the survey is that New Delhi tops the list when it comes to selling old phones.
Delhiites sold the most used smartphones with 18%. Mumbai is second this time with 10% followed by Bangalore with 9%. According to a survey by Cashify, about 85% of respondents were open to the idea of buying a refurbished phone.
Affordability is a key factor and 70% of users said they bought a refurbished phone. 12% of users bought an old phone as a replacement device, while 13% of those surveyed spent money on a refurbished phone to gift to loved ones.
Of the 8,000 people surveyed, 71% said they understood the concept of e-waste and 58% said they would like to recycle their old smartphones. However, only 48% know how to recycle their old devices. 27% of users said they would recycle their old devices if they got financial benefits from them. 15% of respondents said they did not want to recycle their old phones, and another 4% said they were concerned about data security.
Xiaomi phones are the best selling used phones
According to the Cashify Whitepaper Survey, Xiaomi phones are the best-selling used smartphones with a percentage share of 25%. Apple and Samsung were second and third with 16% and 15% respectively. Apple iPhone 7, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Note 4, Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone X are the top five buyback phones.
Bangalore is the truest city
In terms of the percentage of smartphone users who were most truthful about the actual condition of their devices when selling online, Bangalore emerged as the most truthful city at 29%. Hyderabad comes second with 28%. Kolkata and Pune were the least truthful at 21% each.
