DJI recently added another product to its existing lineup called the Avata FPV drone. According to Avata, it offers “the ultimate immersive drone experience” for first-person drone fans.
Thanks to a 2,420mAh battery, DJI claims the Avata has a flight time of up to 18 minutes. Thanks to the ultra-wide-angle camera with a 1/1.7″ CMOS sensor, it offers a field of view of 155 degrees. Users can shoot 4K videos at 60 fps or choose to record 2.7K videos at 50, 60, 100 or 120 fps.
The DJI Avata can either hover like a normal drone or accelerate quickly to get in and out of tight spaces. The company also claims it can stop ‘in a split second’. In case you somehow manage to land the drone on your back, DJI says the new ‘Turtle mode’ can help you flip over and take off without a problem.
In addition to the normal mode, which allows the drone to hover in one place using satellite navigation or a visual positioning system, users can gain full control of the flight experience using the manual mode, which requires the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2. Then there is the sports mode, which offers dynamic movement .
It weighs just 410 grams and features an integrated propeller cover for protection in confined spaces. DJI Avata is currently available for purchase at the DJI Store and other authorized retail partners.
If you want to buy just the drone, it will cost you $629 (Rs 50,000 approx), while the Pro-View combo, which includes the drone, DJI Goggles 2 and DJI Motion Controller, will cost you $1,388 (Rs 1,11,000 approx ). Unfortunately, it is still unclear whether the DJI Avata FPV drone will be available for purchase in India.
