Fortnite is now available on Xbox Cloud Gaming

Microsoft and Epic Games announced, that from today Fortnite has become available in the Xbox Cloud Gaming cloud service, and absolutely free. Broadcasting Fortnite from the cloud does not require an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which means that users just need to create a free Microsoft account and go to the site on any device with a modern web browser. The game supports both touch controls and compatible Bluetooth controllers.

Thus, iPhone and iPad owners can once again play Fortnite on their devices, if, of course, Xbox Cloud Gaming is operating in their country. Unfortunately, this service is not yet available in Russia and CIS countries. Streaming a game from the cloud requires a good internet connection.

By the way, the Xbox Cloud Gaming preview is also available on Valve’s Steam Deck portable gaming console, which means you can play Fortnite there too. This may very well be relevant as Fortnite doesn’t officially support Steam Deck.

Microsoft is considering adding other popular free games to Xbox Cloud Gaming.
