Google is gearing up for its “Made by Google” hardware launch event on October 6. The event will be held in New York. There is no word on the standalone event in India, but those interested can watch the event live on Google’s official YouTube channel at 9:30 PM (IST). The event will see the launch of the Pixel 7 series along with the Pixel Watch, which were unveiled at Google’s developer conference earlier this year. Ahead of the event, Google posted videos on YouTube revealing the design of the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Watch.
Pixel 7 series design
Based on the teasers released by Google, the Pixel 7 series appears identical to the Pixel 6 series; albeit with several repeated updates. The videos show the aluminum frame and camera bar and textured glass back on the Pixel 7 and the shiny steel frame, camera bar and glass back on the Pixel 7 Pro. The videos also show the Pixel 7’s dual-camera system and the Pixel 7 Pro’s triple-camera system. The Pixel 7 will be available in Lemongrass, Snow and Obsidian, while the Pixel 7 Pro will be available in Hazel, Snow and Obsidian.
What to expect
Google has confirmed that the Pixel 7 series will be powered by the second-generation ‘Tensor G2’ processor, built in partnership with Samsung. Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are expected to come with new front camera sensors capable of recording videos in up to 4K resolution. Other expected features include a triple camera system led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, Android 13, and a screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Pixel Watch design
A video released by Google shows the Pixel Watch from all sides, except for the back, where all the sensors would be located. The smartwatch has a circular domed design and has a tactile crown and side button. As previously mentioned by Google, it comes with removable straps in lemongrass, snow, obsidian and grey. The smartwatch is expected to be available in matte black, but only in select countries. The smartwatch will feature WearOS 3 with integrated Fitbit health and fitness features and customizable watch faces. The watch is said to be made of recycled stainless steel.
