Google Translate has been downloaded 1 billion times in the Play Store

Google Translate is one of the easiest translation apps you can go to for quick and easy translation. And it’s free and easy to use, so its popularity is understandable in terms of download.

It’s been a little over a decade since Google Translate was launched as an Android app (launched in January 2019) and over time the app has been updated with a lot of new features and duplicate UI.

Google Translate has reached a milestone 11 years and three months since it was released – it has dropped 1 billion downloads from the Google Play Store.

This download is over 1 billion from users and not OEMs because the Google Translate app is not part of the main Google Apps Services package. That means people with Google Translate on their phones all go to the Google Play Store and download the app there.

With more than a decade since the Google Translate app was released, this one billion figure is no surprise. However, time is not the only active factor in favor of Google Translate. No other translation, free or paid apps, can fully pull Google Translate and continue to play a 4.5 star rating in the Google Play Store.

Google Translate currently supports 109 languages ”‹”‹from now on with support for pronunciation, translate, offline translation, camera translation, black mode etc and Google also always adds some features to it.
