The Apple iPhone 14 lineup will be unveiled on September 7 at the Far Out event. The series is likely to consist of four models – iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Max. A previous rumor previously suggested that the iPhone 14 Pro models are likely to have two separate punch holes and pill-shaped cutouts on the front. Now Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the cutouts will be combined into one wider cutout, creating a larger pill-shaped cutout.
“That’s right. It looks like one wide pill-shaped cut-out. Such a separation would look weird in use,” he says in a tweet. The pill-shaped cut-out is said to display privacy indicators for the microphone and camera.
This combined cutout will be less distracting for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max users. It will also offer them a more efficient viewing experience. In his report, the tipster claims that Apple plans to “visually expand the darkened areas around cutouts to host content. For example, Apple could expand the area slightly to accommodate the status icons on the left and right, or even expand it downward into a large rounded square when delivering certain notifications.”
It should be noted that the pill-shaped notch is said to come only with the iPhone 14 Pro models. On the other hand, the standard iPhone 14 models may have a notch.
Meanwhile, Apple is expected to introduce a new color variant of the iPhone 14 series. It may bring a new shade of purple color with the iPhone 14 series. Also, the iPhone 14 Pro model may release a Sierra Blue color model.
The Cupertino-based company is also rumored to bring satellite connectivity features with the new iPhones. This feature will allow users to connect to mobile networks in remote areas, allowing them to send text messages in emergency situations. The upcoming iPhone series will reportedly offer faster wired charging of up to 30 watts. Wireless charging speed, on the other hand, may remain the same.
