Instructions: Enable Improvements to the Startup Page in Settings in Windows 11 Build 25247+

Microsoft recently released a new Windows 11 Insider Build 25247 to the Dev channel, in which enthusiasts once again discovered several hidden innovations in development. The change was noticed by the user under the nickname PhantomOcean3.

The company is working to improve the Startup page in Settings so that users can quickly open the file location of a Win32 application that automatically starts when Windows starts. The same feature has been present in the Task Manager for a long time, but the Settings app in some cases offers more detailed information about the program.

At the moment, the function is disabled by default, but it can be forced to enable using the ViVeTool utility.

Instruction

  1. Download the ViVeTool utility by this link. This is a new version of ViveTool 0.3.2, details of which we have covered in our material.
  2. Unpack the downloaded archive to any place on your computer (for example, you can create a ViVeTool folder in the root of the C: drive and place the files there).
  3. Open a command prompt as an administrator (for example, by typing CMD in the search and selecting the appropriate item).
  4. In the command line, navigate to the folder with ViVeTool using the command cd /d , then press Enter. For example: cd /d "C:\ViVeTool"
  5. Enter command vivetool /enable /id:41075629 /store:both and press Enter.
  6. Make sure that the command line shows the message “Successfully set feature configuration”
  7. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

If you want to disable the feature, then use the command:

  • vivetool /disable /id:41075629 /store:both
