Instructions: enable the updated product key input window in Windows 11 Build 25281+ (Dev)

Windows 11 Insider Build 25281 for the Dev channel has an updated design for the Change Product Key dialog box, which is currently hidden from prying eyes. Now this window is made in the Fluent Design style and matches the look of Windows 11 much better. You can see the changes in the gallery below.

Microsoft has not officially announced this change, so to enable it you will need the ViVeTool utility and the commands from the instructions below.

Instruction

  1. Download the ViVeTool utility by this link. This is a new version of ViveTool 0.3.2, the details of which we have covered in our material.
  2. Unzip the downloaded archive to any place on your computer (for example, you can create a ViVeTool folder in the root of the C: drive and place the files there).
  3. Open a command prompt as an administrator (for example, by typing CMD in the search and selecting the appropriate item).
  4. In the command line, navigate to the folder with ViVeTool using the command cd /d , then press Enter. For example: cd /d "C:\ViVeTool"
  5. Follower type the following commands, pressing Enter after each one:
    • vivetool /enable /id:42733866 /store:both
    • vivetool /enable /id:36390579 /store:both
  6. Make sure that the command line shows the message “Successfully set feature configuration”
