Lava 5G smartphone

Lava will launch an affordable 5G smartphone at Rs 10,000 around Diwali

Indian smartphone maker Lava International on Monday said it will launch an affordable 5G smartphone LavaBlaze 5G for around Rs 10,000 ahead of Diwali.
The mobile device was unveiled by Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the Indian Mobile Congress here.
Priced at Rs 10,000, the mobile device expert claimed that the phone will be the cheapest 5G smartphone in the market.
“It has always been our wish to develop an affordable 5G smartphone made in India. This product is in line with the larger vision of bringing the next generation of 5G technology to Indians at an affordable price. With the launch of this smartphone, we are making the power of 5G technology available to everyone,” said President and Chief Commercial Officer, Lava International Sunil Raina.
Pre-bookings for the Lava Blaze 5G will start around Diwali this year, he said. Built on the MediaTekDimensity 700 chipset, the smartphone will sport a 50-megapixel (MP) AI triple rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and will come with anonymous call recording feature.
“The new 5G smartphone aims to make cutting-edge technology accessible to all. This collaboration is part of our commitment to support the government’s Design in India vision,” MediaTek India Managing Director Anku Jain said.
Mobile expert and founder of The Unbiased Blog Nikhil Chawla said that Lava Blaze 5G is priced around Rs 10,000 and is the cheapest smartphone in India.
“A sub-Rs 10,000 or $125 price tag for Lava Blaze 5G makes it India’s cheapest 5G smartphone. Smartphones like Lava Blaze 5G will help democratize 5G in India. We’ve done it with UPI and online payments, and now we’re going to do it with 5G because India is projected to have the fastest 5G rollout in the world,” Chawla said.
