Microsoft has begun distributing the stable version of Microsoft Edge 110 (110.0.1587.41). This version of the browser has lost support for the Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems, as their life cycle ended in January 2023. As such, the new version of Microsoft Edge will only work on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Component Updates
- New policies for Immersive Reader. This tool simplifies web page layouts, removes obstructive elements and allows you to customize the page style for a more comfortable reading of the content. With new policies, administrators can control the availability of Grammar Tools and Picture Dictionary features.
- Azure Active Directory users can now enable browser data synchronization between their devices. If synchronization is disabled in the profile, then after launching the browser, you will be prompted to enable this feature. Organizations using the SyncDisabled policy will not be affected by this change.
- Drop function. Microsoft Edge offers an easy way to share files and notes between all the devices your account is connected to. On the desktop version of Microsoft Edge, the Drop feature is managed through the sidebar (edge://settings/sidebar). Administrators can control access to the Drop feature using the EdgeEDropEnabled policy .
