Microsoft Increased Bing Chatbot Request Limits and Announces New Feature

Microsoft Corporate Vice President Yusuf Mehdi announced about the next change in the restrictions on the use of the Bing chatbot. Starting today, within one dialogue, you can send up to 6 messages, and the total number of sessions per day cannot exceed 60. In the future, the company intends to allow the creation of up to 100 dialogues per day. By the way, regular search queries are no longer counted as queries to the chatbot.

Recall that just a couple of days ago, Microsoft limited the number of requests to the recently launched Bing chatbot in order to reduce the number of strange and sometimes aggressive responses. The company believes that during long conversations, the chatbot tries to keep track of the context and the amount of data provided, which leads to unpredictable results. The following restrictions were set: up to 5 messages per session and no more than 50 dialogues per day.

In addition, soon Microsoft will start testing a new feature that will allow users to switch between modes of the Bing chatbot. Depending on the option chosen, the bot will present accurate, balanced, or creative responses. This is supposed to allow users to control the behavior of the bot to suit their needs.

We are also going to start testing an additional option that will allow you to choose the style of chatting: from more precise, which will be aimed at getting short and concise answers, to balanced and creative, which will give you longer and more lively answers. The goal is to give you more control over the chat style that best suits your needs.
