Microsoft has released cumulative update KB5025135 for Windows 11 Insider Build 25314 available on the Canary channel. This update does not bring any innovations and is aimed at testing the service system. In particular, the company is testing the possibility of releasing and installing updates on top of previous updates.
After the update, the system build number will change to 10.0.25314.1010.rs_prerelease_flt.230303-1429.
The servicing system is one of the key components of the operating system, which should work as stable as possible, since it is it that is used to distribute functional and cumulative updates.
As a reminder, the Canary channel is ideal for advanced users. It tests changes to the platform at an early stage of development. Builds for the Canary channel are released shortly after compilation without much internal testing. This means that builds may contain critical bugs that will prevent you from fully using the operating system. Moreover, in rare cases, a complete reinstallation of Windows may be required to resolve problems.
If you’re on build 25XXX and want to switch back to the Dev channel, you’ll need to completely reinstall your operating system. The fact is that the build number for the Canary channel is higher than those that are released on the Dev channel.
