Microsoft unveiled the Surface Laptop 5, Surface Pro 9 and Surface Studio 2+ at its hardware event on Wednesday. In addition, the American software giant introduced its new graphic design application called Microsoft Designer. Below are the details of everything Microsoft announced at the Fall 2022 event:
Surface Laptop 5
The thin and light Microsoft Laptop 5 is powered by 12th generation Intel Core processors based on the Intel Evo platform. It runs the Windows 11 operating system and comes in 13.5-inch and 15-inch screen size variants. Both models support 10-point multi-touch and Dolby Vision IQ. The Suface Laptop 5 is available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB LPDDR5x RAM variants with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options. Connectivity is covered by Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The notebook has Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, USB-A 3.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Surface Connect Port for wired interfaces.
Surface 9 Pro
This two-in-one device has a 13.3-inch PixelSense Flow screen with a dynamic refresh rate of 120 Hz. Like the Surface Laptop 5, the Surface 9 Pro screen supports Dolby Vision IQ and 10-point multi-touch. It comes in two variants, one powered by 12th generation Intel Core processors and the other by Microsoft’s SQ 3 5G processor created in collaboration with Qualcomm. The Intel variant comes with 8GB, 16GB and 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The 5G variant with the Microsoft SQ3 processor comes with 8GB and 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
Surface Studio 2+
Touted as the most versatile all-in-one, the Studio 2+ has a 28-inch PixelSense touchscreen. It’s powered by an 11th-generation Intel Core H-35 processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 discrete GPU. Microsoft says the Surface Studio 2+ has twice the graphics performance of the Surface Studio 2. It supports a number of essential ports, including USB-C with Thunderbolt 4. In addition, the all-in-one supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It runs Windows 11 operating system. It comes with 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD.
Microsoft Designer
Microsoft Designer is the new graphic design app in Microsoft 365. Like other design apps, Designer helps people create content like social media posts, invitations, and more. It uses artificial intelligence to help users automatically get different unique images and designs based on their idea or content.
Apple integration in Windows 11
Microsoft has announced new Apple integrations in Windows 11. Through new integrations with Apple iCloud and the Photos app in Microsoft Windows 11, iPhone users will soon be able to access photos and videos on their Windows devices. Additionally, Microsoft is also announcing the availability of Apple Music and Apple TV apps on Xbox consoles. Both of these apps will launch on Windows next year
