Microsoft has decided to significantly reduce its activities in Russia. About it informed A company representative in a statement to Bloomberg:
As a result of changing economic prospects and the impact on our business in Russia, we have decided to significantly scale down our operations in Russia. We will continue to fulfill our existing contractual obligations to Russian clients, however, new transactions remain on hold.
This decision will affect about 400 employees, but Microsoft intends to do everything possible to support affected employees at such a difficult time. It is likely that such employees will be offered the opportunity to relocate to other countries to continue working in the company.
Recall that in March this year, Microsoft announced the suspension of sales of goods and services in Russia. According to the chief financial officer of the company Amy Hood (Amy Hood), Russia accounts for less than 1% of Microsoft’s revenue.
