New Features for Windows 11 Version 22H2 Released to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel

A couple of weeks ago, the release of Windows 11 2022 Update (version 22H2) took place, however, not all planned innovations were included in this version of the system. But that’s how it was planned. The head of the Windows division, Panos Panay, said that as early as October, users will receive a new update that will bring with it several new features. Microsoft is starting to test some of these features ahead of the release of the update. in Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.608 (KB5017389) for insiders on the Release Preview channel.

Innovations

  • Improved Explorer. It now includes a tabbed interface that lets you organize your work just like you would in Microsoft Edge. On the File Explorer home page, you can now pin important files for quick and easy access to them. With OneDrive capabilities, you can view what your colleagues are doing on shared files. And finally, you’ll get personalized recommendations based on your Microsoft 365 account information.
  • Added “Suggested Actions” feature for copied elements. The feature is only available in the US, Canada and Mexico. When you copy a phone number or date, the system prompts you to allow using Teams or Skype, or create a calendar event.
  • Added taskbar overflow menu. If your taskbar runs out of free space, then the application icons that do not fit on it will be moved to a new menu.
  • Now you can share information with more devices. With Nearby Sharing, you can discover and share content with more devices, including PCs.

Note. The new features are not yet available to all members of the Windows Insider Program. Microsoft wants to collect feedback from a small group of users before the change is made available to all Insiders.
