WhatsApp is constantly working on the latest features and updates to improve the user experience and increase engagement on its platform. According to recent reports by WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned messaging app will make it much easier for users to search for chat messages.
WhatsApp will allow users to search for chat messages by entering a date. This feature was first spotted in 2020, but could not make it into the company’s plans. However, now it looks like this update is ready to roll out.
New WhatsApp Feature: What’s the Benefit?
If the user forgets the conversation but remembers the date, this feature can help them organize a chat without entering keywords. All they need to do is filter by the date they chatted.
The latest feature will come in handy when searching for crucial conversations or reminding you of an important chat between users or in a group on a particular day.
According to reports, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is primarily working on this feature for iPhone users. However, WhatsApp will introduce this feature for Android smartphones as well.
New WhatsApp feature: What’s new for iPhone users?
The Meta-owned platform will stop working on some Apple iPhone devices starting October 24, 2022.
WhatsApp will no longer support users with iOS 10 and iOS 11 smartphones. iPhone and iPhone 5C users in particular will not be eligible for WhatsApp updates.

According to a WABetaInfo report, the feature was in the works for two years, but was later rejected. But “after the release of WhatsApp Beta for iOS 22.0.19.73 from Testflight, we found out that WhatsApp is finally planning to re-release this feature in the future”.
Click on the icon and you can immediately go to a certain date and start reading all messages from that date.
Scroll through the conversation and close the date view.
This feature will be useful when you want to find out the first message shared with a certain contact or read what messages were shared on a certain date.
