Poco is gearing up to launch its latest budget smartphone – the M5. The company today announced that it will launch the M5 in the Indian market on September 5 at 5:30 PM IST. Judging by leaks and rumors, it looks like the Poco M5 will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. It looks like the company will launch the 4G version of the phone and the 5G variant (Poco M5S) will not be available in the Indian market.
Speculations also suggest that the Poco M5 will sport a 6.58-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Similar to the previous iteration, the M5 may have a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. A fingerprint scanner may also be integrated into the power button.
Out of the box, it could run on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and will be available in three configurations, with the base variant offering 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, another with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and the top variant with 6GB of storage . RAM and 128GB internal storage.
Also, if we look at the tweet from Poco in India, the announcement video has text in the lower left corner which suggests that the phone will be in the Rs 10,000-13,000 price segment.
