Random call hangs up with iPhone side button: Here’s how to disable

You can end a call by pressing the side button on your Apple iPhone during a call. This feature is a convenient way for many to hang up. However, there are some iPhone users who accidentally press this side button, which results in the call ending abruptly. With the latest iOS 16, iPhone users will get the option to disable this feature by default. Readers must note that this feature only works for Apple iPhone 11 and above devices.

Here’s how to disable it

Step 1 – Go to Settings on your iPhone

Step 2 – Now scroll down and tap on Accessibility

Step 3 – Here, find “Physical and Motor” and then tap on Touch

Step 4 – Here, toggle the switch next to Prevent Lock to end the call. If you accidentally press the side button during a call, this setting will ensure that the call does not hang up.

However, keep in mind that enabling Prevent Lock to end a call on your iPhone will not allow you to reject incoming calls by pressing the side button.

Apple’s iOS 16 update adds a new lock screen that allows users to customize it as per their choice. With the new software, iPhone users will be able to customize the font, color and placement of elements on the lock screen on their iPhones.
