Rumor: Microsoft is preparing an Xbox Game Pass family subscription

Windows Central Portal informsMicrosoft has been exploring the possibility of creating an Xbox Game Pass family subscription for quite some time now, and it looks like the company may be announcing it in the “near future”.

The family subscription will reportedly provide access to the Xbox Game Pass catalog for up to five players, and will cost less than if you bought a separate subscription for each account. Microsoft is also working on integration with the family account system that is used for Microsoft 365 Family subscriptions.

It is noted that in order to implement this idea, Microsoft had to work out in detail the distribution of royalties and rewards to third-party publishers who have already published their content in current Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.

There are no other details about the Xbox Game Pass family subscription yet. It is possible that this rate will be added to all subscription versions, including Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
