South Korean tech giant Samsung’s upcoming next-generation flagship smartphone under the Galaxy S23 lineup will be powered by Qualcomm chipsets.
According to GSMArena, CEO Cristiano Amon said that the Galaxy S23 series will exclusively use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
“We were 75 percent on the Galaxy S22 before the deal. You should think we’ll be much better than the Galaxy S23 and others,” Amon said.
Meanwhile, Qualcomm Incorporated announced that it has strengthened its strategic partnership with Samsung Electronics to deliver superior premium consumer experiences for Samsung Galaxy devices.
Qualcomm Incorporated and Samsung have agreed to extend their patent licensing agreement for 3G, 4G, 5G and the upcoming 6G mobile technology until the end of 2030.
The two tech giants have agreed to expand cooperation with Snapdragon platforms for future premium Samsung Galaxy products, including smartphones, computers, tablets, augmented reality and more.
“The collaboration between Samsung and Qualcomm spans many years, and these agreements reflect our close and long-term strategic partnership,” said T.M. Roh, president and director of MX Business, Samsung Electronics.
“We are committed to working with Qualcomm to advance the mobile industry and user experience with future Samsung Galaxy devices,” added Roh.
