Search Engine Optimization is very important if you want to increase your exposure to the internet however, it seems that many people are victims of bad SEO (search Engine Optimization) processes. The biggest criticism is that many people pay too much money with little or no results. Moreover, many of them became victims of bad SEO tactics. If you plan to hire an SEO pro in the future, I recommend that you follow the steps below before hiring any SEO company or individual:
A) Find out how well-known and experienced an SEO company is before you speak.
Do they have a large number of customer lists?
Are they available?
B) Check their portfolio.
What kind of results have they achieved?
Connect with a few of their customers. Are they satisfied with the SEO work done?
C) Think about and validate their methods?
How will they grow your site in the major search engines to reach your keywords?
Do they use biological methods? Some individuals or companies use doorstep pages, hide text in the background, use redirects and other restricted methods. Stay away from these because search engines take these methods as spam.
D) Get at least three suggestions from other SEO companies.
Look at each one carefully. Are there any similarities? Suggestions will help you to know which companies are trustworthy and are trying to sell you something that does not work.
What is the cost? The cheapest is not always the best; however, the highest value will not be associated with a complete and possible course of action. Try to find an individual or company that will provide you with what you want within your SEO finance plan.
E) Write everything down.
Look at the document carefully. Make sure it covers everything you have discussed, including ways to achieve the results you want. Make copies signed by both parties. If the job is big you might want to see a lawyer.
F) Clearly state the payment terms.
While most SEO companies will not do any work for free or agree on results-based earnings, most experienced SEO professionals will not leave a basic and efficient package. I do not strongly believe in pre-paid contracts. Most SEO experts will adhere to 50% in advance, 50% once the level is completed. Make sure all financial terms are clearly defined in your contract as the actual scope of the work. This will protect all stakeholders in a situation where expectations have not been met.
All in all, try to do your best to train yourself in SEO. Have a basic understanding of SEO terms and approach to SEO. Anyone who provides SEO services should have no problem explaining how you intend to get you results.
