Sony has unveiled the first look of the new PlayStation VR 2 controllers. The new controllers include the fingerprint tracking and haptic response of the PS5 as well as flexible trigger features to provide a dive experience.
The new controls now contain a completely new design, unlike the old PS End Wand. New orb-shaped devices now fit snugly in your hands allowing for a more natural fit, without pressing the player’s fingers.
Back to features, with the exception of Adaptive Trigger and Haptic Feedback, the new controls will also be able to get fingerprints. This allows the device to detect your fingertips without the need to press any buttons. Sony says this will allow for “more natural touches” during play.
The new PlayStation VR 2 controllers will be followed by a tracking ring at the bottom of the PlayStation VR 2 headset. Each side of the controller includes an analogue stick, a capture button, a start button and other two-button inputs. There is also a ‘Create’ button on the left side and a ‘Options’ button on the right.

Sony has indicated that it will soon be posting images of new regulators in the development community. The brand also shared that too many stories on the new PlayStation VR 2 are yet to be revealed saying there is “much more to be shared with the next generation of VR on PS5.”
Confirmed back in February this year, the new PlayStation VR 2 headset connects to the PS5 with a single phone and features better upgrades and a larger viewing field. However, the launch of the trade will still require some time. Sony has revealed that PS VR 2 will not launch in 2021.
