Edition of The Information with reference to own sources informsthat Microsoft is working on a new version of the Bing search engine built on the ChatGPT artificial intelligence chatbot from OpenAI. It is expected to be launched by the end of March 2023. Microsoft believes that the integration with ChatGPT will challenge the market-dominating Google search engine (92.21% share).
Representatives of Microsoft and OpenAI declined to comment on this information.
Recall that ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot from OpenAI. Its main feature is that it can not only recognize requests in natural language, but also maintain a dialogue with the user. Moreover, ChatGPT can generate meaningful answers to questions based on texts from the Internet. The answers often contain logical reasoning, and when solving problems, the chatbot talks about the steps taken.
Simply put, in the future, chatbots similar to ChatGPT may well replace search engines in the usual sense, as they will be able to provide the user with concise and understandable answers without the need to collect information bit by bit from different sites. But now you should not fully trust the answers of ChatGPT. Information may look plausible, but in reality turn out to be completely wrong.
