Google introduced the world’s first cloud computing laptop. The company has partnered with Acer, Asus and Lenovo to bring three new cloud-powered Chromebooks. These are Acer Chromebook 516 GE, ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip and Ideapad Gaming Chromebook. All three notebooks offer high-resolution screens with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. They are equipped with RGB gaming keyboards (select models) with anti-ghosting function for faster speed. Another feature is the latest WiFi 6 connectivity on these laptops for seamless connectivity.
All Chromebooks for cloud gaming offer 120fps and have input latency below 85ms. Google has teamed up with NVIDIA to offer RTX 3080-level GeForce NOW support for cloud gaming Chromebooks. Users will be able to enjoy Fortnite, Cyberpunk 2077, Crysis 3 Remastered and more at resolutions up to 1600p and 120 frames per second. The notebooks also feature Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) via an installable web app. In addition, Chromebooks will support three leading cloud gaming platforms — Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), NVIDIA GeForce NOW, and Amazon Luna.
Google’s new Chromebooks for cloud gaming make it easy for gamers to find the games they love and start playing them right away. They simply need to tap on the All button, find the game of their choice and start playing it without installing or downloading.
Google says the brand new cloud gaming Chromebooks will come with new offers that include a three-month trial of Amazon Luna+ and NVIDIA GeForce NOW at the RTX3080 level. With these offers, users can play nearly 200 of the more than 1,500 titles available on Chromebook for free, including games like Control Ultimate Edition, Overcooked 2, Fortnite, and League of Legends. Google also works with leading peripheral manufacturers such as Acer, Corsair, HyperX, Lenovo and SteelSeries to ensure that their popular mice, headsets and controllers are tested and certified as part of the Works With Chromebook program.
The new Acer Chromebook 516 GE, ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip and Lenovo’s Ideapad Gaming Chromebook will be up for pre-order later this month.
