The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold was a large 8.01-inch folding display

Following Xiaomi’s yesterday’s event, the brand is hosting a new launch today in China for other new products, including Mi Mix Fold, Xiaomi’s first mobile phone. The Mi Mix fold comes with interesting descriptions including a 2K screen, desktop mode and more. Here’s everything you need to know about the device.

The Mi Mix Fold has two screens, one external screen with an internal folding display, and the external display is a full-size full screen similar to the Galaxy Fold 2. While the exterior screen is a 6.52-inch AMOLED panel with 840 x 2,520-pixel resolution, the internal folding screen is a larger 8.01-inch screen with a 4: 3-factor ratio and WQHD resolution.

Being one of the biggest ads on the phone, Xiaomi also used a full desktop mode that can be used with many unused windows. There is no high refresh rate on the internal screen but the external screen has a refresh rate of 90Hz.

The phone also uses a 27% light U-shaped hinge. The Mi Mix Fold is powered by a 5G-enabled Snapdragon 888 chip available with 12GB or 16GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. There is also a large 5020mAh battery supported by a fast charging of 67W. No wireless charging support available here.

Coming to the camera optics, the Mi Mix Fold includes a quad-camera rear setting, featuring a 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor, 13MP, 123-degree FOV (field of view) ultra-wide angle sensor. 8MP zoom sensor with 30x digital and 3x optical zoom and 8MP macro camera. Other features include quad stereo speakers and a brand new ‘butterfly’ cooling system.

Prices and availability

Mi Mix Fold costs from 9,999 yuan (approximately Rs 1.11 lakh) for 12GB / 256GB variants and 10,999 yuan (approximately 1.22 lakh) for 12GB / 5126GB variations. The maximum variation of 16GB / 512GB is priced at 12,999 yuan (approximately Rs 1.45 lakh). The phone will go on sale in China later in the year but pre-orders will start on April 16. Meanwhile, like the Mi 11 Ultra launched yesterday, there is no guarantee of global phone availability.
