Uber to soon shut down its free loyalty programme launched in 2018

Uber will soon end its free loyalty program launched in 2018

Ride-hailing platform Uber is ending its Uber Rewards loyalty program, with users encouraged to sign up for Uber One to receive regular Uber and Uber Eats discounts.

Launched in 2018, Uber Rewards is a free program that lets you earn points for every dollar you spend on rides or food orders through Uber and Uber Eats, The Verge reports.

You can then use these points to get discounts on future rides or deliveries. The more points you earn, the better benefits you get – you get 7,500 points.

However, Uber doesn’t offer a refund for the program, and there’s no other way to consistently get the benefits and discounts unless you pay for the Uber One subscription that Uber launched as a replacement for Eats Pass last year.

A $9.99/month (or $49.99/year) subscription comes with perks like free food delivery, up to 10% off “eligible” Uber Eats orders, and 5% off rides from top-rated drivers.
