After rolling out several new features, Meta-owned WhatsApp is likely working on a new feature for businesses that will allow them to manage chats from their connected devices on the upcoming WhatsApp for Business subscription service.
According to WABetaInfo, users will be able to enjoy additional features in the future under a new optional subscription called WhatsApp Premium, such as the ability to create their own business links and link up to 10 devices to their accounts.
As for the last feature, it would also be useful for large enterprises to manage certain chats from a specific device – for this reason, WhatsApp is developing the ability to associate chats with connected devices, the report says.
The screenshot showed a tooltip informing users of the new feature when it is enabled for a business account.
“When you want to associate a certain chat with a specific connected device, a list of your connected devices will be displayed so you can select the device you want,” the report says.
“Associated chats will be highlighted on the selected device, so the user using that particular device knows they need to manage those conversations,” he added.
Since this is a business tool, it will not be available for standard WhatsApp accounts. This feature is under development and will be released in a future app update.
