WhatsApp is testing a new feature; users can soon share documents with the caption: Message

WhatsApp, the instant messaging platform, is testing a new feature for Android that would help users share documents with a caption based on the message. The news follows recent developments that the Meta-owned direct messaging service is testing a subscription program for some users. WhatsApp is constantly beta-testing several features for both Android and iOS users.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the new WhatsApp document captions feature is rolling out with the Google Play Beta version 2.22.22.7 update. The report also includes screenshots that reveal how the feature (which is currently only available to Android beta testers) will work.

The new feature would reportedly allow users to include a caption when sharing documents. Android users will be able to find a “Caption Panel” that they can use to attach a caption to any document. The title bar is expected to appear whenever users try to select a document.

This feature can be useful because documents that come with a subtitle are easier to search and find. Currently, this feature is only available to a select number of beta testers, and Meta is expected to roll this feature out to more Android beta users.

To recall, WhatsApp is also said to be offering its premium business users some additional features that offer them ways to reach their customers easily and effectively.

Now, WABetaInfo has announced that the messaging platform has started testing a subscription plan for certain enterprise users with the latest beta update for Android and iOS via the Play Store and TestFlight.

According to a WABetaInfo report, the paid WhatsApp service will be an optional feature for users. This means that business users are free to decide whether they want to pay an additional premium amount to use additional features.

WhatsApp Business users can activate the subscription service in WhatsApp Settings. According to reports, users who are part of the beta testing would witness a new section called WhatsApp Premium. Click the option to allow them to subscribe to the plan by making a payment. WABetaInfo reported that the subscription fee may vary from country to country.
