Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that will add a new camera shortcut to their app for iPhone users.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has pushed a new update through the TestFlight beta program, bringing the version up to 22.19.0.75. The version marked in WhatsApp settings is 2.22.19.75 and the TestFlight build is 22.19.0.
The screenshot showed that the camera shortcut is located in the navigation bar and will be displayed to users who can already create a community in the future.
It looks exactly like the one implemented on WhatsApp beta for Android (but because there was a bug, it was temporarily removed in another update), the report said.
As the shortcut is currently under development, it is still not visible to users as WhatsApp plans to release it in a future update to the app, he added.
Earlier this month, a report said that WhatsApp was working on a new feature for businesses that would allow them to manage chats from their connected devices in the upcoming WhatsApp for Business subscription service.
As part of a new optional subscription called WhatsApp Premium, users will be able to enjoy additional features in the future, such as the ability to create their own business connections and link up to 10 devices to their accounts.
