In order to take down abusive messages, Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp will soon release a new feature that will allow group admins to delete messages for everyone.
According to WABetaInfo, the platform is rolling out a new update through the Google Play beta program that brings the version up to 2.22.17.12 and this will allow group admins to delete any message for everyone.
The message states that if you’re an admin of a group and try to delete an incoming message and see the option to “delete for everyone,” it means the feature is available.
When you delete a message sent by another group member to everyone, other people will always see that you deleted the message because your name will appear in the chat bubble.
Recently, the platform banned more than 22 million bad accounts in India in the month of June in compliance with the new IT rules 2021. In May, it banned more than 19 million bad accounts in the country.
The messaging platform also received 632 reports of complaints within the country in June, and 64 accounts were “burdened”.
