Widgets button in Windows 11 can now display news and stock data

Microsoft has started rolling out an updated version of the Widgets component of the Web Experiences Pack to Windows 11 Stable users. Once the update is installed, the Widgets button on the taskbar will periodically display bad weather, breaking news, and stock ticker notifications.

It is worth noting that notifications from Widgets do not send sound signals and will not greatly distract you from work. Unfortunately, this feature can’t be disabled right now, so you’ll either have to put up with this behavior or remove the Widgets button from the taskbar.

Web Experiences Pack should update automatically through the Microsoft Store, but you can speed up the process by manually checking for updates. If the new version is not found, then you should not worry. As always, Microsoft is rolling out the update in waves, so it may be some time before the new version hits all Windows 11 users.
