Development of Windows 11 version 22H2 (Sun Valley 2) is coming to an end, so it’s not surprising that for several weeks now the network has been discussing the upcoming signing of the RTM build of the system. According to rumors, the final assembly will be chosen in May, although some sources say that this will happen in June.
Windows Central Portal Editor Zack Bowden is confident that Build 22621, released this week on the Beta Channel, will be RTMed unless serious bugs are found. In his opinion, the signing will take place on May 20, that is, exactly one week later.
Thus, the base build of Windows 11 version 22H2 may be exactly 22621. Before the release, the system will receive many more cumulative updates with bug fixes, so the minor build number (after the dot) will be higher. Windows 11 version 22H2 is due out this fall.
By the way, in replies to the tweet, Brandon LeBlanc, senior manager of the Windows Insider program, said the following: “features such as tabs in File Explorer will become available to members of the Windows Insider program when they are ready.”
