Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25151 rs_prerelease 220625-1835

Good evening friends! Microsoft has released a new preview build of Windows 11 25151 for members of the Windows Insider program using the Dev channel.

Complete build number: 10.0.25151.1000.rs_prerelease.220625-1835.

Important! Recently, builds under the Windows Insider program have become unavailable to users from Russia and the Republic of Belarus, probably due to geo-blocking. Windows Update simply doesn’t find new updates, whether it’s a build in the Dev channel or a cumulative update in the Beta or Release Preview channel. If you are affected by this problem, then enable the VPN by selecting any European country, check for updates in Windows Update, wait for the download to begin, and disable the VPN. You can read more about this situation in our article.

Corrections

  • Conductor:
    • We fixed a scaling issue that could cause tabs to be too large.
    • If you right-click on a tab and then click anywhere else in File Explorer, the context menu should now close.
  • Other:
    • Microsoft believes that the hotfix made in build 25145 resolved a recent issue that caused some members of the Windows Insider program to not have the “Shut down” function in the Start menu – instead, the computer would restart. The issue has been removed from the known list. If you’re still experiencing this issue, please leave a new review in the Feedback Hub app.
    • Fixed a frequent crash in the Windows Security application.
    • Updated the Exceptions page in the Windows Security app so that file paths are not truncated, but use all available space on the page.
    • Fixed a major issue that caused a crash when trying to remove ports in printui /s.
    • We fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders not being able to print from UWP apps in the last two builds.

Note. Some of the fixes listed above may be included in the cumulative updates for the October 5 release version of Windows 11.

Known Issues

  • General:
    • We are investigating reports that the “Mica” material and the “Acrylic” effect are incorrectly displayed (not rendered) in such system elements as the Start menu, Action Center, etc.
    • Some games that use Easy Anti-Cheat may crash or cause GSOD to appear on your device.
    • We are investigating reports that some Insiders are experiencing a GSOD with a KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error starting with build 25145 with a reference to the NetAdapterCx.sys file.
  • Windows Explorer:
    • File Explorer tabs incorrectly display up arrow button next to the address bar. This will be fixed in future builds.
    • We are investigating reports that launching File Explorer in certain ways (for example, from the command line) when using a dark theme causes the main area of u200bu200bExplorer to unexpectedly appear with a light theme
  • Widgets:
    • Engineers are working on a fix for an issue where widget settings (temperature units and pinned widget order) were unexpectedly reset to default.
  • Live Captions:
    • Some applications do not allow you to display real-time subtitles in full screen mode. For example, this applies to video players.
    • Some apps at the top of the screen that were closed before Live Captions launched will re-launch behind the Live Captions window at the top. Use the system menu (ALT + ) when the application has focus to move the window down.

I wish you a successful update!
