Good Morning friends! Microsoft has released a new preview build of Windows 11 25182 for members of the Windows Insider program using the Dev channel.
Complete build number: 10.0.25182.1000.rs_prerelease.220812-1437.
Important! Recently, builds under the Windows Insider program have become unavailable to users from Russia and the Republic of Belarus, probably due to geo-blocking. If you are affected by this problem, then enable the VPN by selecting any European country, check for updates in Windows Update, wait for the download to begin, and disable the VPN. You can read more about this situation in our article.
The Community team recommends using AdGuard VPN or Windscribe.
Fixes
- General:
- From now on, Insider Builds (25182+) will expire on September 15, 2023. It is highly recommended that you upgrade to this build to avoid being notified that previous builds are about to expire.
- We fixed an issue resulting in a 0x80070001 error on devices with insufficient free disk space when attempting to install the latest build for the Dev Channel via Windows Update.
- We fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders experiencing FPS drops in some games when using certain graphics cards.
- Task bar:
- We fixed an issue that could cause the taskbar overflow menu to appear unexpectedly on the opposite side of the screen. In Build 25179, this issue was erroneously marked as fixed.
- We fixed an issue resulting in the taskbar animation that plays incorrectly when you switch from tablet mode to desktop mode when you log in if there is no free space on the taskbar for new icons.
- Fixed an explorer.exe crash that could occur when determining whether to display the taskbar overflow menu. For example, this could happen when exiting a full screen game.
- Start menu:
- Fixed a crash that prevented apps from launching from the Start menu.
- Conductor:
- We fixed an issue where the left half of File Explorer’s title bar might not be draggable with a mouse or touch.
- We fixed an issue resulting in the Home, Documents, Pictures, and other folders unexpectedly being duplicated in the navigation bar or appearing on the desktop.
- If you select several folders and use the “Open in a new tab” option in the context menu, then all selected folders will be opened as separate tabs. Previously, only the first folder in the list would open in a new tab, while the others would open in a new window.
- Updated Narrator logic so that when you navigate to the OneDrive folder in File Explorer’s navigation bar, it announces that the folder belongs to OneDrive and is not limited to “YourName is Personal”.
- Other:
- We fixed an issue where the camera light could turn on after logging in on a laptop.
- We fixed an issue that is believed to be the root cause of some Insiders experiencing errors when opening or copying files from online locations.
Note. Some of the fixes listed above may be included in the cumulative updates for the October 5 release version of Windows 11.
