Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25201.1000 Announcement (Dev Channel) rs_prerelease 220909-1430

Good evening friends! Microsoft has released a new preview build of Windows 11 25201 for Windows Insider program members using the Dev channel.

Complete build number: 10.0.25201.1000.rs_prerelease.220909-1430.

Innovations

Full Screen Widgets Panel

Microsoft is trying to implement changes that will expand the Widgets panel to fill the screen so that more diverse content does not fit on it. The button for switching between panel display modes is located in the upper right corner next to the Add Widgets and Options buttons.

The system will remember the Widgets display option you have chosen, so that you do not have to use this button every time you open the panel to switch to full screen mode.

This change is not yet available to all Insiders in the Dev channel. Microsoft wants to collect feedback from a small group of users before the change is made available to all Insiders.

Game Pass Widget Improvements

Last month, Microsoft previewed a Game Pass widget that didn’t support signing into an Xbox account. Now the company has begun rolling out an updated widget that provides this capability. If you’re already signed in to the Xbox for PC app, you’ll be automatically signed in to the Game Pass widget. After authorization, you will see a list of games available to you by subscription. In addition, the widget will display a list of the latest games you have played.

This change is not yet available to all Insiders in the Dev channel. Microsoft wants to collect feedback from a small group of users before the change is made available to all Insiders.

Changes and improvements

  • Conductor:
    • Search in File Explorer will now display results as you type. The full page of search results will be updated in real time without the need to press the Enter key. This feature is currently not available to all members of the Windows Insider Program.
