Major IT software Wipro Ltd said on Thursday it had signed an agreement to acquire Ampion, an Australian cyber security company, devops and state-of-the-art engineering services.
Ampion was built with a combination of Revolution IT IT service providers and Shelde. Revolution IT was an Australian IT services company founded in 2004 and Shelde was an IT security company founded in 2010.
The merged business headquartered in Melbourne has offices in Sydney, Brisbane and a three-party facility in Canberra.
The Australian market is severely affected by cloud adoption, devops, analytics and the strengthening of digital power across all businesses and public sector structures.
The combined offerings of Wipro and Ampion will bring market size and markets in response to the growing needs of customers.
“We see Ampion as a complementary force that will help us expand our steps and speed up our journey in the Asia Pacific region,” said N S Bala, CEO of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa at Wipro.
Wipro has been present in the Australian and New Zealand markets for more than two decades with deep customer relationships in all sectors of the industry as well as the power of the site and the local environment.
“The acquisition is subject to the general conditions for closure and approval, and is expected to close in the quarter ending June 30.
