Redmi’s first tablet is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 system-on-chip. It has a 10-bit 10.61-inch screen with 2K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate stretched to a 15:9 aspect ratio. The screen is certified by TUV Rhineland and SGS for lower blue light emissions.

For sound, the tablet has a four-speaker system, two each on the top and bottom in a vertical orientation, with Dolby Atmos. In addition, there is support for Hi-Res audio. The tablet is powered by an 8,000 mAh battery, and according to the company, it is rated for more than 21 hours of video playback, eight days of music and 12 hours of gaming on a full charge.

The Redmi Pad runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12 with support for split screen, floating windows and multi-window functionality. In addition, the tablet is Widevine L1 certified for high definition video streaming. The tablet will get three years of security updates and two versions of Android and MIUI updates over three years – according to Xiaomi.

One of the differentiating factors for the Redmi Pad is the 8-megapixel wide-angle front camera with a 108-degree field of view and FocusFrame technology. According to Xiaomi, the front camera will automatically switch to a wider view to fit more than one person in the shot. This feature is limited to WhatsApp and Messenger and will be enabled through an over-the-air upgrade.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad has a dual microphone system and a built-in document scanner. Supports third-party digital stylus for notes and doodling. Other features include dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, microSD card slot for storage expansion, USB-C for charging and data transfer with OTG support, IP52 for dust and splash protection.
