If a user wants a different handle from the one YouTube reserved, she can change it.

YouTube offers users unique controls for better connectivity: All the details

YouTube will soon roll out the ability to choose a controller for all channels in the coming weeks. Users will receive an email and notification in YouTube Studio when they can choose their controller. In most cases, if they already have a personalized URL for their channel, YouTube will reserve it for them as their control.

If a user wants a different handle than the one reserved by YouTube, they can change it. The video streaming platform says, “If you don’t have a personalized URL today, you’ll also be able to choose a handle for your channel.”

Each channel will have a unique controller on the video streaming platform to make it easier for fans to discover content and interact with the creators they follow.

According to an email received from YouTube dated November 14, 2022, if a user has not yet selected a handle for their channel, YouTube will automatically assign them a handle that can be changed later in YouTube Studio.

Handles will appear on channel pages and short videos, making them instantly and permanently recognizable. “Soon it would be faster to mention each other in comments, community posts, video descriptions and more. For example, creators can be given a shout-out in a mention in the comments or tagged in the title of a recent collaboration, helping them increase visibility and reach new audiences,” Youtube says.

The timing of when an author gains access to the click selection process depends on a number of factors, including overall presence on YouTube, number of subscribers, and whether the channel is active or inactive.

Meanwhile, YouTube also said last month that it is expanding its creator monetization program to Indian creators from early 2023. In a blog post published in September 2022, Amjad Hanif, YouTube’s vice president of products for creators, said that creators who create Shorts videos can apply. for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) if they have 1,000 subscribers and have reached 10 million views in the last 90 days or 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months on YouTube Shorts.

Hanif also said that YPP will also be extended to early-stage creators on the platform. “The new PPY tier with lower requirements will offer earlier access to fan funding features such as Super Thanks, Superchat, Super Stickers and channel membership.
